We are proud to present to you the second international Symposium on The Film Archive as a Research Laboratory on December 12 and 13, 2013. We kindly invite you to the lectures, paper presentations, round table discussions, debates and Q&A as well as a special screening of Jean-Luc Godard’s Histoire(s) du Cinéma. EYE Film Institute Netherlands and the Groningen Film Archive will again host the event.
The first day will take place in EYE in Amsterdam; the second day in the University of Groningen.
The fourth volume of the international books series The Key Debates, on Technē/Technology. Researching Cinema and Media Technologies – Their Development, Use, and Impact will be launched as part of the event. The two-day symposium will be proceeded by a public peer reviewing workshop for PhD’s and Research Master students organized in close collaboration with the Research School for Media Studies RMes. The event is organized and supported by EYE Film Institute the Netherlands, the Research Centre Arts in Society of the University of Groningen, The Groningen Research Institute for the Study of Culture ICOG, the Research School for Media Studies RMes, Birkbeck College London, Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, Amsterdam University Press, and the Film Archive of the University of Groningen.
